John Fitzpatrick was born in County Down, Ireland and immigrated to Canada at the age of 18 with six of his brothers. John settled on lot 18 on Allumette Island, Patrick and William on lot 19, Henry and Michael on Osceola and Douglas Islands, Mark and another brother settled along the St. Lawrence River, Attie, a sister, remained in Ireland.

John Fitzpatrick married Mary Brown (Mary Ann's GGGM) his first wife and they had six children Thomas (Mary Ann's GGGF), John, James, Patrick, William and Harry. After Mary Brown passed away John remarried Mary Ryan from Cobden and they also had six children, Mark, Attie, Bibbie, Katie, Tessie and Marcelline.

AA. Thomas Fitzpatrick (Mary Ann's GGF). He was born on August 19, 1846 in Chapeau, Pontiac, Quebec and he died January 13, 1915 in Chapeau, Pontiac, Quebec. Thomas married Katie Lawless his first wife and had two children John L. and Minnie.

A. John L. Fitzpatrick was born March 7, 1875. He married Katie Cotnam and they had five children.

B. Minnie Fitzpatrick was born between 1876 and 1878 and she drowned with half sister Frances.

After Katie's death Thomas married Sarah Ann Lackie on April 29, 1878 in Chapeau, Pontiac, Quebec, (Mary Ann's GGM) and they had 10 children. She was the daughter of Hugh Lackie and Mary Kelly and was born on April 10, 1854 in Chapeau, Pontiac, Quebec and died May 17, 1910.

C. Mary Margaret (Maggie) Fitzpatrick was born February 19, 1879 in Chapeau, Pontiac, Quebec, and married Jack Kelly and they had two children. She died June 10, 1915.
